Zalando The Fashion Experience

Category : Interviews

Zalando is the UK’s new online destination for shoes, fashion, and of course dresses! Zalando were kind enough to let us interview them:

1. What makes Zalando unique from your competitors?

At Zalando we do not only offer cutting-edge shoes for women, men and children, but also spoil our customers with a wide range of the latest fashion trends and exclusive accessories. From casual street wear to elegant evening dresses and timeless classics from international top brands and sought-after designer labels; At every customer will find the perfect product for any occasion, taste and budget. Moreover, shipping and returns are always free making online shopping at Zalando an easy and secure experience.

2. You have a number of brands selling dresses, which are the ones that stand-out?

Dresses from the American brand Tibi are perfect if you really want to make an impression. The selection ranges from sexy cocktail dresses to majestic evening gowns featuring elegant tailoring, sumptuous embellishments, vibrant colours and extravagant designs.

Another great brand for beautiful and wearable dresses is mint&berry. The young German label creates comfortable, timeless clothes for modern and self-confident women. Clean cuts, whimsical details like buttons and bows and a touch of Scandinavian minimalism make the dresses a great choice for those who want to make a statement without blowing the budget.

3. If you had to pick one dress to make a fashion statement which would it be?

I would probably go for a maxi dress in a bold colour like orange or cobalt blue teamed with a pair of glamourous flats to create an effortless, understated look. Prints also work very well with a maxi as long as you keep the make-up and accessories natural and subtle.

4. What are the key fashion trends this season?

This season is all about colour! From bright neon accessories to full on colour blocking–there are countless ways of introducing colour to your wardrobe this summer. Mix and match contrasting colours like blue and yellow or orange and red, or simply opt for colourful accessories to highlight and brighten up your look.

70s inspired floral prints, flared trousers and platform heels are another huge and wearable spring/summer trend. Instead of going for a head-to-toe floral look I would recommend introducing single key pieces such as a floral print summer dress or skirt. Wedges and chunky heels, however, can be styled with virtually any summer look as they work well with anything from light dresses to chinos and shorts.

As opposed to all the colours, we will also see lots of white and nude tones this season. To make a serious statement, go for the monochrome look or mix with metallic colours to add some understated glamour to your look.
