Jones & Jones is a feminine and sexy fashion brand inspired by the 40’s and 50’s jet set with its own quirky, modern twist. They have just released their new Spring/Summer 12 collection and were kind enough to discuss their new range with us:
What were the inspirations behind the new collection?
We are inspired by a variety of sources each season and our S/S 2012 collection combines street fashion influences from London to the Cote D’Azur, with the most glamorous of catwalk trends and 40’s and 50’s couture silhouettes. The first of the prominent stories for the season seeks a sophisticated audience. Inspired by the French Riviera it combines seductive and oh-so-chic sparkling peaches and creams, nudes and cappuccinos interspersed with perfect little black dresses in soft pleats and chiffon.
The second story blends an ice cream colour palette of blush pink, lavender, lemon and Anis green with ginghams, bows and lavish layering. From gorgeous cut-out shift dresses to high waist buttoned shorts and with the third season collaboration with Liberty of London adding statement florals into the high summer mix, you can almost smell the perfume of the fresh flowers and feel the light sea breeze!
Do you follow the catwalk trends set by the big fashion houses?
We take inspiration from catwalk trends to ensure our styles combine an on-trend modern edge with the 40′s and 50′s silhouettes we are renowned for. We have also noticed them taking inspiration from us too, but we’re not one to name name’s!
What are your favourite dresses from the new range?
Although we’re obviously abit bias, we can honestly say the whole collection is full of had-to-have dresses! The Poppy dresses are gorgeous for the Spring and, as collars look set to stay on-trend for A/W 2012 as well, it’s the perfect transitional style to keep you looking feminine, edgy and oh-so-sweet! The new Florence Dress, which will be arriving onto the website within the next few weeks, is the perfect summer dress combining a deep ‘v’ neckline and back with stunning petals swirling down from the hips to the hem and the excitement about the Tamara Dress speaks for itself!
Do you have a celebrity following?
We are very honoured to be adored by many celebrities and have an especially close following from X Factor stars including the amazing Little Mix and Amelia Lily! From stunning presenters such as Jameela Jamil and Alesha Dixon to actresses Michelle Keegan and Gemma Merna, from TOWIE to MIC, singers and dancers we love to see celebrities in our statement dresses! Joy Williams from the band The Civil Wars and actress, singer and dancer Ariana Grande are both huge jones + jones fans in the US too!
And finally, when is the new collection released?
The new S/S 2012 collection has started to arrive onto our website already and new styles will continue to arrive up until July so there will be plenty of stunning dresses to choose from!
