Where did the inspiration come from for the new A/W 2011 collection?
For our new A/W 2011 collection, we have combined inspiration from street fashion in London to the south of France, with this season’s hottest catwalk trends and the 40’s and 50’s full-skirted silhouettes we at jones & jones are renowned for.
We love to see what the girl walking down street is wearing, how our customers are styling their jones & jones dresses and what’s new and fresh on blogs. Combining these influences with the latest looks from the catwalks and around our signature style, ensures every jones + jones garment is always edgy, directional, strong and feminine and our customers always stand out from the crowd!
Does the new collection follow any trends?
We have been inspired by many of the biggest A/W 2011 trends for the new collection, combining them with street fashion influences and our signature style to ensure we’re always ahead of the high street and our customers are on-trend and stylish for the party season. For luxury, think sequins and metallics as seen at Bottega Veneta, Balmain and Prada, for lady-like glamour think polka dots from Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney and we absolutely love sheer and textured fabrics this season!
Is there one stand-out dress in the new range?
There are so many gorgeous dresses to choose from especially as our second season collaboration with Liberty of London means there will also be a stunning selection of limited edition dresses too!
We have just launched the new A/W 2011 collection in our concessions in select Topshop stores, which will be launching very soon onto our website too, and the dress we have had the most exciting reaction to is the new jones & jones Petal Dress in black. The Petal Dress is a stunning sheer shift dress, with a softly gathered neckline and a luxurious velvet fitted body underneath. The bell sleeves are gathered in at the cuff allowing the soft fabric to billow and a gorgeous array of fabric petals flutter around the hips and down to the hem adding to why this ultra-feminine and glamorous dress is so popular.
Does the new collection have any surprises?
The new collection will of course be full to the brim with fabulous and flirty full-skirted dresses but there will also be some stunning softer silhouettes – a jones & jones dress will definitely be at the top of every in-the-know fashionista’s wardrobe wish list this party season!
