1. What makes your brand stand-out from your competitors?

I don’t really focus on competitors, LaDress is LaDress. Each dress we make with a lot of devotion, love and I try on each dress myself. We have beautiful fabrics, work with a great studio and a very good pattern maker who practice their jobs like a true craft. At the end of the day I hope our customers recognize this in our dresses. Next to that we try to create classic, timeless and endlessly versatile dresses, which suit every woman and are perfect for any occasion. We sell our dresses exclusively online, so wherever you are -worldwide- you can order your LaDress at any time. Since we are only found online we provide our customers with excellent and personal service. With any kind of question you can call or e-mail us, we will always provide you with an answer. I think when selling your products over the internet you should provide your customers with a more than excellent return and exchange policy. So if you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return it for free and for a full refund.

2. Where do you get your inspiration from when creating a new collection?

I admire women who embrace life. Who live their life like they want to live it and are passionate about it. Those women radiate happiness and confidence. That is what I believe is beautiful in women. They look good no matter how they dress themselves. These women inspire me to create the perfect dress for them.

3. Which do you think is your stand-out piece of the current collection?

I love our pencil dresses. I still can’t choose what my favorite is. We have some new leather pencil dresses coming up in great colors. They will be absolutely stunning.

4. Are you excited about 2011 and the new SS11 collection?

New years and new beginnings are always exciting. At LaDress we don’t work with collections though. We try to create timeless and ageless dresses, investment pieces, which will stay beautiful in the years to come.

Rare was to created to offer cutting edge fashion for the young fashionistas who wanted the latest styles and trends, and they have kindly agreed to be featured in our series of Behind The Brand interviews.

1. What makes your brand stand-out from your competitors?

One of the biggest key strengths of Rare that sets aside this brand from other competitors is our ‘Fast Fashion model’. Rare is able to develop merchandise through sketches and sampling to product in store in a record time of 7 weeks. This ensures we are always first to market with the hottest trends thus being a trend setter, not a follower.

2. Where do you get your inspiration from when creating a new collection?

As a fast fashion model we do not create seasonal capsule collections, we develop new collections every day all year round. We take inspiration from the catwalk to celebrities, vintage and travel, fashion magazines and trend websites offer an extensive history of fashion information from the past decades. Looking at vintage, retro and history this season has played a huge role in our collection research. After extensive research the design team selects the colour way and fabrics and begin the sampling process.

3. Which do you think is your stand-out piece of the current collection?

This Season my favourite pieces have to be from our Opulence range, Opulence styles are unique and precious. Garments are embellished, offer the most premium of fabrics and intricate pattern cutting. Look out for the Pom Pom Maxi dress, this seasons must have.

4. Are you excited about 2011 and the new SS11 collection?

Absolutely, already we have trailed some of our SS collection in store and had a fantastic reaction. This summer its all about floaty silhouettes, bold floral’s and sorbet pastel colours. A really romantic feminine season awaits with 70′s influence. Palazzo trousers, culottes, wide leg jumpsuits and retro dresses all to be soon released from Rare Fashion.

1. What makes your brand stand-out from your competitors?

The fact we have a very high turnover of product means there’s around 300 new styles on the site per week, giving us a competitive edge for newness in the current market trend for ‘fast fashion’. It also means we’re able to launch more trend collections to inspire the customer.

2. Where do you get your inspiration from when creating a new collection?

The boohoo design team compile seasonal catwalk reports from the latest runways and take inspiration from the most popular looks. They then filter these looks into more watered down designs / collections suitable and accessible for the boohoo customer.

3. Which do you think is your stand-out piece of the current collection?

A key piece is the Natalie shorts from the future attitudes collections – they’re a loosely tailored style, really versatile and a key pieces for a spring/summer wardrobe.

4. Are you excited about 2011 and the new SS11 collection?

A break from the darker mood of winter and a return to pastel colours and brighter hues. Also, the launch of a fully branded swimwear collection and an updated product portfolio for the premium collection boohoo pink.

1. What makes your brand stand-out from your competitors?

LOVE does not mass produce collections that is why there is a huge demand for our stock, which sells out really fast!

2.Where do you get your inspiration from when creating a new collection?

For Spring/Summer 2011, we looked at Designer Catwalk shows for inspiration and to see what ideas are recurring throughout the shows to forecast fashion trends. Also trends in high street stores are a good indicator of ideas filtered down from the designer shows. Styles blogs have become a very important tool to predict trends for the future.

3. Which do you think is your stand-out piece of the current collection?

The Cape dress has been a huge success and is a great example of a successful trend filtered down to the high street. Our Chiffon pieces, plain or printed, have been a huge success and show a shift to a more flirty and feminine style of dressing.

4. Are you excited about 2011 and the new SS11 collection?

Transition from Winter to Spring is always an exciting time for designers, colour and print become even more exciting.
