Aftershock is a luxury British brand with a fashion signature of exuberant colour schemes and beautiful design work. They have just released their new Spring/Summer 12 collection and were kind enough to discuss their new range with us:

What were the inspirations behind the new collection?

The SS12 Collection is origami inspired focusing on fluid shapes in various prints contrasting against more edgy structured silhouettes. There are various stories in the SS12 Collection including Global Remix, China White, White Out Lace and Sheer Romance. Furthermore, the design team have expanded on Aftershock Bridal this season with fabulous styles for both Brides to be and Bridesmaids alike and statement pieces.

Do you follow the catwalk trends set by the big fashion houses?

Yes, we follow the key trends of the season but always twist it and apply Aftershock’s unique and signature look. The beginning of Spring saw the resurgence of stripes in knitwear and dress shapes so we produced a range of styles in key seasonal colours.

What are your favourite dresses from the new range?

Our favourite dresses from the new range are the Sacha, Docila and Demi Maxi Dresses because there’s quite nothing like it in the market and AW11 saw the Sinora Maxi Dress being picked up by fashion editors around the world.

Do you have a celebrity following?

Aftershock London has always had a celebrity following especially on Red Carpet Glamour and Evening Wear however we’ve seen more celebrities wearing the ready to wear or casual range in recent months because there’s simply nothing quite like on the market and all styles and prints are unique to Aftershock London.

And finally, when is the new collection released?

The first drop of the new collection released on 1st February across all international stores. New styles are being added every week to stores so there’s something fresh and keep the customer engaged.

Coast are well known for creating beautifully designed, quality garments for the special times in your life, and with the release of their stunning new Spring/Summer 12 collection, we were really excited when Coast agreed to answer these questions:

What were the inspirations behind the new collection?

The inspirations behind the new collection really focus on colour this season. From block brights to monochrome, the main theme is: the bolder the better! We have also played with textures for Spring; there is an abundance of broderie, cut out and appliqué detail on our gorgeous new gowns which emulate the budding spring blooms synonymous with the blossoming season ahead.

Do you follow the catwalk trends set by the big fashion houses?

We follow all the key designers, including fashion blogs and big red carpet events like film premieres and award ceremonies. Our inspiration for designs is global we are constantly researching at various vintage markets and art exhibitions for ideas that can be translated into stunning occasionwear.

What are your favourite dresses from the new range?

A firm favourite at head office is the Celeste Print Dress with eye-catching floral detail; the mixture of electric blue and aqua combine for a fresh and feminine look. The Jazz Mono Dress is another standout design from Coast this Spring which can take you from desk to dinner in style- it is a truly versatile and wearable piece. Oh and I have to mention the Tia Maxi Dress for it’s vibrant colours- this is a perfect style for a special occasion this Spring.

Do you have a celebrity following?

Many celebrated personalities have been spotted in our designs; we hear that Christine Bleakley, Kirsty McCabe and Andrea McLean are quite the fan!

And finally, when is the new collection released?

Quite a few pieces from the new collection are available to buy online and in store now, the few pieces that aren’t available to shop yet will be released in March through to June…don’t miss them!

LOVE has just started to release their new Spring collection, and from the success of their Autumn/Winter range of wrap dresses and asymmetrical maxi dresses we were keen to find out what one of our favourite brands had in store. We caught up with LOVE and they were kind enough to answer these questions about the new season collection, and give us a sneak peak behind the scenes of the new season photo shoot!

What were the inspirations behind the new collection?

The new Collection is an influx of colour and fresh Prints. There are a lot of sorbet shades and flowing fabrics to try and make us all feel more like summer! We wanted to create a collection that makes you feel bright even if the weather isn’t. We design styles that you can put your own mark on so you wear the clothes and the clothes don’t wear you. We are always inspired by our surroundings, what trends are happening on the streets and the blogs and most of all, what our customer expects from us.

Do you follow the catwalk trends set by the big fashion houses?

We most certainly take an interest in the catwalk trends. Shapes do get filtered down into our collection however we don’t follow them intentionally. I think all the big designers lead the way for high street brands like us but we each veer off in our own direction in order to offer our own unique style.

What are your favourite dresses from the new range?

Favourite pieces from the new SS12 collection include the light easy to wear spring knits, the new Harper print, The love long sleeve wraps and high low maxi dresses! The beautiful blue and coral Harper print is certainly a key print and will be seen all over the LOVE collection on a wrap dress and a high low maxi! Light spring knits are great- we especially love the stone LOVE and Crucifix jumpers as seen on many celebrities! 2 dresses that LOVE are certainly know for are the long sleeve wrap dress and the high low maxi dress! Well they will be arriving this season is some great new spring shades!

Do you have a celebrity following?

LOVE have a huge celebrity following including reality TV favourites like the Scouswewives, Towie girls and Chelsea gang! Right up to pop fashionista’s The Saturdays, Alexandra Burke and X Factors Little Mix!

Other followers include Cher Lloyd, Abby Crouch and Michelle Keegan!

And finally, when is the new collection released?

LOVE continuously receive new styles, prints and designs! The SS12 collection has already kicked in and will continue to react to new trends and in demand styles!

Madam Rage has just started to release their new Spring collection incorporating luxe fabrics including stunning soft silky blouses, luxurious chiffon and Summer-friendly cottons. Stripes and polka dots are punctuated with block paneling in an amazing dress collection. We caught up with Madam Rage and they were kind enough to answer these questions about the new season collection:

What were the inspirations behind the new collection?

New inspirations for the Spring/summer collection came collectively from many aspects such architecture, travel, celebrities and the designer catwalks – we loved the marc by marc Jacobs for his bold prints. We are also hugely inspired by our customer and the feedback we have over the past seasons as to what they want for the season ahead.

Do you follow the catwalk trends set by the big fashion houses?

Yes, we do look at the catwalk trends for our initial design meetings but then translate them to what we think our customer want; we will usually take small elements from the main catwalk shows such as colours, prints and textures.

What are your favourite dresses from the new range?

My favourite dress is the nautical maxi dress that is colour blocked with a dipped hem and a rope belt just finished it off. This will be in stock in mid Feb. Also I love the sleeveless lace dresses, we do so well with these year on year and the new colour pallet of corals and cream look so fresh and new for this year!

Do you have a celebrity following?

Yes we are often seen on celebritys such as The Saturdays Una Healy, TOWIEs Lauren Pope and Laura Whitmore and Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards.

And finally, when is the new collection released?

The SS12 collection began to filter in throughout January and will continue through the season with around 5-7 styles per week.
