boohoo offers the very latest styles in clothing and accessories for women that love keeping their look on-trend and affordable. They have just released their new Spring/Summer 12 collection and were kind enough to discuss their new range with us:
What were the inspirations behind the new collection?
For our forthcoming collection ‘Sportsluxe’, we have taken inspiration from the Olympics which is more prevalent than ever in the UK market as it is being hosted this year in London. From the eighties and nineties when fashion originally merged with sportswear, we’ve moved away from the head to toe athletic wear, and instead taken details and fabrics and injected them into a fresh collection for Spring. Mesh paneling, drawstring detailing, and brightly coloured silky nylons compose the collection of dip hem dresses, crop tops vests and shorts, layered with leggings, t-shirts and blazers creating a young, smart casual look.
Do you follow the catwalk trends set by the big fashion houses?
Every season we look to the catwalks for direction, and aim to emulate the trends for the boohoo customer. For ‘Sportsluxe’ we paid particular attention to collections by Versus, Victoria Beckham, Isabel Marant and BCBG Maxmara for key pieces such as sports shorts, numbered vests and cagoules.
What are your favourite dresses from the new range?
Here at boohoo, we love to treat ourselves to a dress or two. Our firm favourite has to be the skater dress which we reinvent for each season in all colours and add details such as contrasting collars or season relevant prints including aztec designs and polka dots. For Spring/Summer the maxi dress has become very popular amongst the boohoo team, as has the midi bodycon dress.
Do you have a celebrity following?
Boohoo.com has had a strong celebrity following from day one. Soap stars from popular soaps such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale are often spotted out and about wearing the latest pieces from boohoo’s fashion forward collections. Michelle Keegan is a regular in boohoo and is often seen sporting the latest on trend pieces boohoo has to offer. Alesha Dixon is another fan and has been seen head to toe in boohoo evening wear. Having such a strong relationship with the world of celebrity means Boohoo HQ is a popular place for celebs to come and visit. More recently we have enjoyed having reality stars of The Only Way Is Essex, Chloe Sims and Frankie Essex as well as X Factor celeb, Cher Lloyd visit the office and tell us their favourite boohoo pieces. However as much as celebs love boohoo, we love them just as much. As such we create weekly ‘celebrity get the look for less’ outfits so that you can emulate your favourite star’s style at the click of a button!
